: Legal Pad | LAACLU suit on behalf of homeless gets tossed in Santa Monica

The ACLU's suit against Santa Monica for its treatment of the homeless has been dismissed, according to the Santa Monica Daily Press.
The suit was dismissed "with prejudice" and made "on the basis that the parties have reached an agreement to resolve the case out of court." According to the Daily Press, several sources claim the agreement will not mandate any payment, change in policy, or admittance of a fault on the part of the city.
A provision in the proposed resolution agreement with the ACLU had required Santa Monica to consider participating in a lawsuit accusing Los Angeles County of failing to provide adequate homelessness services. But a source knowledgeable about the ACLU talks said that provision of the proposed resolution was in doubt.
