Heparin can Promote rather than Prevent Thrombosis

Vernon, TX: George's wife has had many heparin flushes over the past several years and he believes her health has deteriorated because of the blood thinning drug. "Laverne had an injury in 2002 and was on pain medication," says George. "They tried to give her an IV but couldn't find a vein so the doctor recommended putting in a pic line. It was flushed with heparin for about 30 days then she started getting very unusual side effects.
