* Jonathan Denny has been re-elected to serve a further five years as
managing partner of Cripps Harries Hall, which is based in the South
East. The appointment reinforces his status as one of the longest-serving
managing partners of a top 100 UK law firm, having first been elected to the
post in 1990. Denny qualified in 1977 and joined Cripps Harries in 1980,
where he built a practice as a private client and property specialist. Over
the past year he has overseen a push to recruit professional managers to the
firm, with Christine Freshwater, an accountant, joining as head of personal
tax, trusts and probate, and William Arthur, former head of professional
services at Barclays Bank, becoming a non-executive director. Denny said:
“Competition in the legal market has increased significantly in recent years
and there is no doubt that this will accelerate as the Legal Services Act
starts to take effect. It will be an exciting time to lead a law firm and I
am very much looking forward to the challenge.”Full post as published by International and UK Law on February 25, 2008 (boomark / email).
