: Law Blog - WSJ.comThe PM Roundup: The EU?s Back on Microsoft?s Case, More . . .
By Ashby Jones
In advance of the weekend, our mind often starts creeping toward baseball. With that in mind, we’re going to devote this roundup to Tim Wakefield, the Red Sox knuckleballer, who pitches tonight against Toronto. We’re not Red Sox fans — they repeatedly crush our Angels in the playoffs — but we’ve recently come to a deep appreciation of Wakefield. First, the guy’s in his 40s. Second, he just seems like a good guy. Lastly, when he retires (if ever), the game may well be without an active knuckleballer for the first time in ages, which would, frankly, leave the game a lesser institution. Tim, this roundup goes out to you.
On with it:
EU Back on Microsoft: European Union antitrust regulators are pursuing a fresh round of stiff sanctions against Microsoft Corp. that could dent the company’s long lead in the market for Web browsers, people close to the case say. The EU is considering an order that would force the company to install rival Web browsers in Windows, these people say. WSJ.
Gay Marriage in the Granite State? Both chambers have approved bills to legalize same-sex marriage, but Gov. John Lynch later demanded additional language to make it clear that churches and religious groups would not be forced to officiate at gay marriages or to provide services, facilities and goods of any kind to participants. The new version which is expected to come up for a vote Wednesday. AP.

Sotomayor is scheduled to meet with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), Judiciary Committee Chairman Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.), and Judiciary Committee Ranking Member Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.), Gibbs said. Staffers were also trying to schedule a meeting with Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.). BLT Blog.
All Eyes Monday on GM: GM has yet to confirm it will seek bankruptcy protection but scheduled a news conference for Monday in New York. Seems to us that GM will be filing for bankruptcy protection on Monday. AP.
