By Ashby Jones

All’s Wells at Pequot: The SEC is prepared to file insider-trading charges against Pequot Capital Management and its founder Arthur Samberg over its 2001 trading of Microsoft stock, according to a letter Pequot sent to investors. The SEC sent a Wells notice to Samberg and the firm indicating it is prepared to bring civil fraud charges and to seek a bar preventing him from serving as an investment adviser, according to the letter. (WSJ)
Ban on Stars and Bars Upheld: A federal judge says a Tennessee school’s ban on Confederate clothing was a reasonable attempt to prevent disruptions because of previous racial threats at the school. Federal judge Tom Varlan threw out a former student’s free speech lawsuit against the school dress code, ruling Tuesday that there would be no retrial. (AP)
The Case of the Sacrificial Goats A city in Texas, called Euless, will ask a federal court to rehear the case of a Santeria priest who wants to sacrifice goats in his home after a judicial panel determined that the city’s decision to prohibit the ritual violated his religious rights. The Fifth Circuit in July reversed a lower court’s ruling that barred Jose Merced, 46, from sacrificing the animals. (AP)

Madoff? And whom does he know it about?” Click here for the story; here, here and here for earlier LB posts on DiPascali.
