Philadelphia's Municipal Court and Common Pleas Court are the latest to join a statewide online payment system for court collections in criminal cases. The courts started collecting on-line payments this week.
The e-Pay system has been deployed by the Administrative Office of Pennsylvania Courts in 19 Common Pleas Courts and 14 magisterial district courts in the last two months, the AOPC reports. About $110,000 has been received so far on-line. The e-pay system is slated to go statewide.
The e-pay system got started in order to improve the collection of court costs throughout Pennsylvania. The e-Pay application, when it goes statewide, will allow defendants to pay for their court costs in multiple counties.
A fee of $2.75 is charged to users for paying on-line. Payments can be made at http://ujsportal.pacourts.us.
