: Legal Pad | LASuit over love dolls blows through the ceiling in Vista Superior Court
By Richard Binder
Yvette and Michele look like the kind of models who used to grace the covers of Roxy Music albums. Turns out they're also the kind of models who might have inspired the band to write "In Every Dream Home a Heartache." And there's been plenty of heartache related to both "ladies" playing out in a North County court for the past couple of weeks.
For two years Matt Krivicke was the CEO for Abyss Creations LLC, a San Marcos manufacturer of high-end sex dolls called Real Dolls, which includes Michele. Krivicke then left to form his own company, KnightHorse LLC, which sells similar dolls under the name Lovable Dolls, of which Yvette is one. Krivicke sued Matt McMullen, his former partner at Abyss, saying McMullen owed him more than $207,000 for the work he did at Abyss and his share in the company's profits. McMullen countersued, saying Krivicke's design for Yvette was done while he was still at Abyss and therefore all the Lovable Dolls profits belong to his company. (Doesn't this sound vaguely familiar?)
For all the sordid details, click these. They're safe for work, we promise.
