ADVERTISEMENTS
Above the Law, the self proclaimed "legal gossip" blog, recently reported a survey finding that 45% of law firm associates are at some stage of looking for a new job. Maybe that's part of the reason why the most popular NY Times business article today is about how the internet has changed (but not really changed) ways people find new jobs.According to The Conference Board, a business research center, 4,833,700 jobs were posted on internet websites in only the last month. If you're interested, here come some suggestions: the major sites are careerbuilder.com, monster.com, yahoo hotjobs.com. Other sites do cater to jobseekers who are looking for jobs under a more specific listing. For those who won't work for less than $100,000/year, there's theladders.com. Are you an aspiring journalist? Because if you are, journalismjobs.com.
Certain websites cater to professionals as well. For physicians, there's PracticeMatch.com. How about for lawyers? I'm glad you asked. Check out Lawyers Weekly Jobs and Law Jobs. For nonprofit opportunities, we like PSLawNet and idealist.org.
Obviously, reader suggestions are welcome!
