AMD Challenges Nvidia on Public Claims About Latest Graphics Card

AMD is ticked off at Nvidia for a recent video where they say that their new GeForce GTX 590 is the fastest graphics card in the world. Not so fast says AMD who owns Nvidia rival ATI. AMD says that its newest card, the Radeon HD 6990, is in fact the fastest and best graphics card in the world.

"When we launched, we issued a press release in which we proudly called it the 'World's Fastest Graphics Card' and fully disclosed the basis upon which we made that claim," reads AMD's blog. "Yesterday, our competitor also issued a press release, announcing the launch of what they claim to be the 'World's Fastest Graphics Card'- the Nvidia GTX 590. We combed through their announcement to understand how it was that such a claim could be made and why there was no substantiation based on industry-standard benchmarks." said AMD's Dave Erskine.
