A new class action lawsuit has been filed against AT&T charging that the once-exclusive carrier of iOS devices (iPhone, iPad) has been overcharging customers by 300 percent for data usage. The lead plaintiff, Patrick Hendricks and his attorneys hired a consulting firm to test data transmitted and received by an iPhone. The research firm came to the conclusion that AT&T was overcharging for data. The research also found that AT&T customers continued to be charged for data even after iOS devices have been rendered incapable of transmitting or receiving data.
In November of 2010 AT&T settled a class action lawsuit called "the AT&T Mobility Settlement." In that one plaintiffs accused company improperly taxing its smartphone customers for Internet usage. Read More
