: Ross-Blakley Law Library BlogArizona May 18th Special Election
By Leslie A. Pardo
On May 18, 2010 registered voters in Arizona will have an opportunity to address Proposition 100 at the polls. This ballot measure would temporarily increase the sales tax for all Arizonans by 1%. After three years, on May 31, 2013, the additional 1% would be automatically repealed. You can find the full wording of the proposal here.
If Proposition 100 fails, the possible fiscal impact could be a 12%t cut to state university system funding, which would be $39.3 million for Arizona State University.
If you would like to vote in Arizona’s May 18, 2010 special election, please keep in mind voter registration closes at midnight on April 19, 2010. You can register to vote online at this site: Register to Vote.
