"A Friday Coaching Session with Cordell: What Do You Do When the Phone is not Ringing?"

This post was written by Cordell Parvin: "What would you do when the phone is not ringing and it seems the well is dry? A lawyer I coach recently asked me that question recently.  He was concerned that he might sound desperate if he called clients and asked if they had any work for him and called referral sources and asked if they had any referrals they could make for him.

I told him he would indeed sound desperate if he called those clients and referral sources and asked for work. You never want to come across as "needy" or "greedy."

During my career when the phone wasn't ringing and I was getting anxious, I did two things..."
