Labor Pains

By Anne Skove, Esq.

ADVERTISEMENTS

For anyone looking for a job this Labor Day, here are some great court- and policy-related employment resources:

  • NCSC's Employment Opportunities in the Court Community lists federal, state, and local jobs throughout the country.

  • Visit NCSC's court web sites page to learn about opportunities within a specific court.

  • The National Association of State Judicial Educators maintains job listings for judicial educators and others.

  • Federal Court vacancies are searchable by state, circuit, city, keyword, minimum salary, or position.

  • The ABA has jobs available in Chicago, DC, and internationally.

  • Most ads on Policy Jobs require a subscription/password, but anyone can view the titles, internships, and shorter "no password required" listing. The sister sites are worth a look, too, for human rights, journalism, political, ethics, and policy employment.

  • The AALS maintains a faculty appointments register, publishes a placement bulletin, and sponsors a recruitment conference. Registration appears to be required for all three services.
