FINANCIAL MISCONDUCT, is a major league problem.

Here is a quote from one of my blogs written in August 2008.

'Let's all give Johnnie a round of applause for just showing up today. Even though he didn't practice as he should have, didn't practice with the team or on his own, didn't work hard, didn't learn to juggle the ball, was late for games, forgot his jersey, didn't bring his water bottle and had a poor team attitude; I his parent, want him (me) to feel good about himself (myself) so we've (I) have arranged to have this participation (loser) trophy all shiny and nice, made with his name on it, the year (he acted like a loser) and the team (that accepted and trophied) his (loser) participation. So stand up Johnny and take a bow.'

*Only losers want or will accept a participation trophy. Winners want to earn one.

Here is what it's supposed to be about.

*And here is the major league problem. $$$$$. Yes parts of the problem are dollar signs and other parts asterisks.

So what about those minor league players catching fly balls in fields of obscurity who aren't being called up to the majors (The MLB) because by a very small margin they just aren't good enough.

  • Is Major League Baseball violating the terms of it's contracts with minor league players by allowing players who use steroids to stay in the league?
  • Are those major league players who use banned substances like steroids taking a position that rightfully belongs to minor league players?
  • Is lying being encouraged by the MLB when it does nothing to those players who admit to lying about steroid use and whose admissions disparage the reputation of the MLB?
  • To the professional player in the minor leagues is this financial misconduct by the league and the major league players?

I would think so if I were playing for the Iowa Cubs and any other farm team of the MLB.

Tomorrow I'll cover it from the other angle. The MiLB.
