KingCast says: Jerry Doyle is back, and so is Christopher King, his favorite lawyer, to ask if Judge Pollitt cost Jerry his leg for time in the hole.

Dear Reporter Ferenchik,

As his former (and favorite) Attorney, I say Jerry Doyle is entitled to a Trial on the Merits to have a jury hear the jailor's belief, i.e. state of mind that Judge Pollitt ordered Mr. Doyle "to the hole" after Jerry called in to a public radio show and complained about His Honor. Judges no longer have that authority. Funny thing is, Jerry was eligible for early release after ten (10) days and then after forty-five (45) of his ninety (90) day sentence for disturbing a Columbus School Board meeting, but he did every bit of his time, more than two entire months of it IN THE HOLE.

Get this: The jail initially refused him because he was ill.

But when a cop (Stanley Byas) punched another cop Pollitt gave him NO JAIL TIME.

See what I was dealing with in Columbus?
Here's Jerry's pending lawsuit 2:2008cv00761 SD OHIO ED, it's deep. Very deep.

Judge Pollitt knew about Jerry's condition with diabetes yet sent him to jail and ordered him to the hole, according to staff. Otherwise, there is no apparent reason why Doyle would be subjected to the hole. He was not a trouble maker in jail. But he was, and is, a trouble maker "On the Columbus Plantation."

I spoke with Michael Isreal and Jerry today. They both appear in KingCast short film "American Lawyer," and in this post describing the farcical Columbus School Board prosecution against him that I successfully defended in a four day trial in 1998 or so.

There was a dirty cop named McFadden who arrested Jerry. I thoroughly shamed him, but good on cross examination. He should have been fired years ago for lying and putting Allen E. Thrower on Death Row for his false testimony because he was busy eating a donut or whatever when his partner got his brains blown out. Oh, yah. I have the whole trial on video, oh, yah.

But after I got run out of town after starting the First Amendment case that John Waddy won for him, nobody would protect Jerry, and after he helped uncover the theft/conversion of $200K by Sherry Bird Long (Ohio Ethics Commission report), he was arrested for disturbing a school board meeting which led to him losing his leg, probably from inadequate treatment that he was denied.... because of Judge Pollitt.

From the 20 September 2008 Dispatch story:

In 1996, he tangled with the Columbus City Council when then-council President John P. Kennedy barred him from speaking. Kennedy complained that Doyle kept protesting two things: the city paying for police protection at a Ku Klux Klan rally, and his mistreatment by the school board.

Doyle filed a federal lawsuit over that. A judge dismissed that case in 1997, and a judge threw out a similar suit in 1999. "Jerry Doyle coming in with a white suit, accusing (Mayor) Mike Coleman of being a slave on the white man's plantation" was too much, Kennedy said.

Deal is, you can't stop Jerry from speaking because he says things you don't like, accurate as they may be. When I sued, Jerry finally was allowed to speak after about nine (9) months at the City Council, even though the Court threw the case out and failed to award me interim attorney fees. Fascinating. Life, death and loss of limb is always fascinating in Columbus.

It's almost as fun as New Hampshire. Keep on Keepin' On, Jerry.

PS: Do not ever, ever attempt to truncate First Amendment Rights when I'm around because I usually win.
