I wish I could get that damn Jason Mraz song out of my head (But I won't hes-i-tate no more no more it can-not wait I'm yours....)Sitting down with a box of crayons and blank paper is fabulous therapy. Pre-schooler not required, but makes for a good alibi...

Boobies!

Posted on August 10, 2009
Clownfish: "Mommy, why can boys wear no shirts when we play outside but girls can't? Boobies are just part of their bodies."How do you answer that one? Go on some rant about puritanical misogyny? I thought about it but instead I told him:"When girls are your age or [your cousin's] age, its totally fine for them to go without a top...

How to Survive the Bar Exam Itself

Posted on August 02, 2009
I post this for posterity, for those who will come next, and for myself, so when someone asks me what I did or how I did, I don't give lame or untrue answers.Pack trail mix fixin's. My personal mix was Rice Chex cereal, whole almonds, craisins, and M&Ms in a small plastic sandwich bag...

Done!

Posted on July 31, 2009
I did it. I survived three days, two bar exams, two hail storms, one GPS that really doesn't handle downtown areas very well, and one creepy guy who yelled at me for taking his hotel room. My laptop did not fail during exam one, my fingers are still numb from the death grip I had on my pen today as I hand-wrote twelve essays (damn state 2 and no laptop policy!), my head hurts probably because of the rum & coke that I drank a few hours ago, and I have a pretty hilarious story about shady motels...

Heading to the Bar

Posted on July 27, 2009
. . . unfortunately, not the fun kind. Good luck to all of my fellow Bar travelers. In closing, I present something TrannyHead created:Behold, Barzam:To quote her Tranniness:He's not pretty. His super power is boredom. That bastard in the green tights can bore you out of your mind...

Wall...again

Posted on July 22, 2009
I have been really upbeat for the last few weeks. Today its like I am wandering in circles and don't know what I'm doing or how to be productive.I stopped studying about an hour ago. I'm home. I'm cooking dinner. I'm gonna hang out with my boys. I am going to go to bed early tonight without guilt...

Yelling about the bar exam

Posted on July 20, 2009
Twitter allows me to yell into the void about the bar exam 14o characters at a time. . . funnily enough, the void yells back. Twitter #barzam-ers have been a pretty fun support group. But blog readers don't always get to see the full spectrum us the insanity...

The Privileges and Immunities Clause needs to stop being an answer choice. I have to resist the urge to stab it with a Slaughterhouse knife every time I see it. But only the P&I of the 14th Amendment. I?m cool with the P&I clause of Article IV...

Things I learned yesterday

Posted on July 17, 2009
If you're a store clerk and take the customer's cash into your hand and put it in your pocket, that's embezzlement. If you put it in the drawer and then take it out and put it in your pocket, that's larceny. Also, if lady has a poodle on a leash and you kick the poodle, you've committed battery on the lady in addition to trespass to chattles...

Google me

Posted on July 15, 2009
In lieu of a real post: bizarre search terms bringing people my way lately"matthew wilder" "adult diaper" My initial response was "I don't know what you were looking for, but I am really sure you didn't find it here." ... Oh.... Oh God... I just google searched it myself and found out I am the Number ONE hit for that particular search...

Eulogy for a blog

Posted on July 12, 2009
It is one thing when a blogger makes the decision to close up shop because the blog no longer serves a purpose to the writer. It is quite another when circumstances beyond one's control compel one to suddenly stop blogging.A friend of mine, who is also a blogger, recently deleted her entire blog...

It's my bar freak out and I'll blog if I want to

Posted on July 10, 2009
Insane delusion: Persistent belief in supposed facts that are against all evidence, probability, and control.Like "I'll pass the Bar."I am mildly freaking out right now and have a full fledged freak out/panic attack scheduled for this afternoon. This may involve crying, rending of garments, gnashing of teeth, hyperventilating, dramatic proclamations, burning of books, and spending an hour on-line looking into pharmacy school while drinking vodka...

Better

Posted on July 05, 2009
I am filled with a renewed sense of purpose. I have a very long story explaining how someone's inability to add together three two-digit numbers ruined my weekend. But I am not going to tell it. Yes, I am now a full week behind on bar review. But somehow that actually feels completely surmountable...

I don't know if its JUST the unrelenting bar prep.I don't know if its JUST the fact I stopped going to the gym.I don't know if its JUST that 'time of the month.'I don't know if its JUST a lack of sleep and dearth of vegetables. It could be any or all of the above, or something not listed...

Posts I don't inflict on you

Posted on June 24, 2009
I was looking at my draft folder and realized I have 167 accumulated posts that I began and abandoned for one reason or another. That's more posts not published than many blogs ever publish.Lowlights:Bitching about the multistate performance testA post about how conflicted I feel about my Note having been published...

Lover's quarrel

Posted on June 22, 2009
So I am arguing with my significant other. He's all "the gun is not admissible because it is the fruit of an illegal car search."And I'm all "Yes, true, I got all that, BUT you completely ignored the separate line of investigation done by the Detective that would have resulted in a proper warrant and lead to the discovery of the gun, so it is possibly admissible, right?"And he's all silent on the issue...
