How Do You Learn to Use New Technology?
Posted on May 27, 2009That's the subject of the latest episode of The Kennedy-Mighell Report. In Learn to Use New Technology: 101, Dennis, Adriana and I discuss how people in general learn to use technology, and whether it's different for lawyers. I'm also pleased to announce that our show notes wiki is finally up (although I need to update it with the latest show information). For each show we've posted links to sites and articles we discuss during the podcast, as well as other helpful related resources. Because it's a wiki, we hope our listeners will join in on the fun -- if you can contribute a useful link or resource, dive in!

It's published by Anne Reed, a trial lawyer and jury consultant with Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren in Milwaukee. Finding Your Lost Phone
Posted on May 16, 2009I'm sitting in the New Orleans airport waiting for a flight to take me home from the ABA Law Practice Management Spring Meeting. I'm breathing much easier than I was an hour ago -- after I got here, I quickly realized I had left my iPhone in the cab. To make matters worse, I had no receipt from the cab company, and didn't even pay attention to its name. (I know, I'm a moron -- but that's not the point of this story). I was able to use my bank card to make calls on pay phone, and after dialing my cell's number for about an hour (I'm still not sure how much this cost), the cab driver picked up and was nice enough to come back to the airport and give me my phone. Crisis averted, thank goodness. As I'm sitting in the airport waiting for my flight, I see a story about Finding Your Lost Phone with Google Voice...

They have also created an RSS feed for each category on the blog, so you can subscribe to the topics that interest you -- pretty nifty.

Anyway, the goal of this blog is to provide users with access to materials and tools basic to the understanding of intellectual property law, Internet law, and regulation and compliance in a digital world.

Blawg of the Day -- Private Equity and Venture Services Blog
Posted on May 06, 2009The last blog we'll visit at Ice Miller is the Private Equity and Venture Services Blog. It's published by Janice Wilken, who handles securities law compliance matters for public companies. One complaint I have about the Ice Miller blogs -- they list "Categories" on the right, which would leave the regular blog reader to assume they are categories of that particular blog. What they really represent are the different Ice Miller blogs -- they are the same on every Ice Miller blog page, and they have nothing to do with the actual categories of the individual blog. So there's no good way to navigate through the posts on each of their blogs.
Blawg of the Day -- Life Sciences Blog
Posted on May 05, 2009Another day, another Ice Miller blog. The Life Sciences Blog is published by Harry Gonso, a partner in the firm. He's discussing the speakers who have appeared at recent Ice Miller's life science distinguished speakers series.
