18th District Congressional Candidate Fred Dailey Getting Fleeced

Posted on January 27, 2010
I don't know anyone who doesn't like Fred Dailey.  Sure, sometimes folks might disagree with him on an issue or two, but that aside, he is one of the friendliest, hardworking, and kindest individuals that I know.  That's why its upsetting to see his generous nature being taken advantage of in his ill-fated second run for Congress in the 18th Congressional District...

Ken Blackwell for State Auditor 2010?

Since everyone else is floating names for State Auditor, I'm going to float one too.  J. Kenneth Blackwell for Auditor of State.  Yeh, I said it.  Why the hell not?  Ken ran and won statewide in 1994, 1998, 2002, and the 2006 primary...

Endorsed Incumbent Mary Taylor Being Forced Out by Ohio Republican Party

Posted on January 12, 2010
In 1997 incumbent Republican State Auditor Jim Petro, who was facing re-election in 1998, raised a whopping $250,000.  $118,000 of that was a direct contribution from the Ohio Republican Party.  So in the year before his re-election, at a time when Republicans held every statewide office in Ohio, Jim Petro could only raise $132,000 on his own for this vital apportionment board seat...

With Apologies to Kevin DeWine, Kasich Appears to Be Sole Architect of Taylor Switch

Posted on January 12, 2010
Let me be upfront and honest about something just like my friend Kyle Sisk was earlier, personally I don't like John Kasich very well.  He's arrogant, rude, and has engaged in behavior towards individuals that is utterly despicable.  This is based upon what I have personally observed and in one case what a friend personally experienced and related to me...

UPDATED - John Kasich Brewing Up an Electoral Disaster

Posted on January 11, 2010
FIRST UPDATE:  BASED UPON WHAT I'M BEING TOLD OFF THE RECORD BY SOURCES CLOSE TO THE CANDIDATE, MY CASH ON HAND NUMBERS FOR THE KASICH CAMPAIGN ARE WAY OFF.  IF THAT IS THE CASE, THEN THAT'S CERTAINLY GREAT NEWS FOR THEM.  HOWEVER, UNTIL I GET A CONFIRMATION THAT I CAN PRINT, OR REVIEW THE FILING DUE ON JANUARY 31ST WE WON'T KNOW FOR SURE...

My family and I were originally scheduled to make a two day drive from Howard, Ohio to Orlando, Florida leaving early on December 18th.  Then we fell victim to the hype of the snowstorm and instead of leaving as scheduled, we waited until the 19th and caught a last minute, but very reasonably priced flight on Southwest...

It appears that Ohio Senate Republicans, who control their chamber, will add 5 votes to the votes of the 12 Democrats and raise Ohio's income taxes .  But really, why should the Senate GOP not do this?  After all, there is absolutely no political downside and certainly some distinct political advantages to casting this vote...
